柿本人麻呂というと「あしびきの〜」と思いだしますが、この人麻呂はなかなかしっかりしたお顔の方で「ひとりかもねむ」といったさびしい感じは受けません。 |

Kakinomoto no Hitomaro (柿本人麻呂 or 柿本人麿) is a Japanese waka poet of the Asuka period (538-710). He was the most prominent of the poets included in the Man'y?sh?. The Man'y?sh? is the oldest existing collection of Japanese poetry, compiled sometime after AD 759 during the Nara period.
This sticking polychrome wood statue has inlaid crystal eyes with painted pupils, a feature rarely found in art craft other than religious Buddhist sculptures.
